News.
On Monday, August 24th, Club 164 received a Community Reinvestment and Repair Commission (CRRC) grant.
Funded from Anne Arundel County’s allocation of state recreational cannabis sales and use tax revenues established by the Maryland Cannabis Reform Act, these grants support community-based initiatives benefiting low-to-moderate income households and residents in areas found to be disproportionately impacted by the criminalization of cannabis.
"Governor Moore and the Maryland General Assembly created this fund to support our communities that have been most harmed by the war on drugs,” said County Executive Steuart Pittman. “Anne Arundel County is leading the way in this work thanks to the dedication of our CRRC members and ACDS and the support of our County Council. Today, $3.3 million is going directly to 53 outstanding local nonprofits who are delivering real, transformative relief in our communities.”
For the FY27 funding cycle, the CRRC reviewed nearly 100 applications totaling approximately $13 million in requests. The Commission carefully prioritized programs providing critical services, community development, and direct support to targeted areas across the county.
